The Hub and Voice for Sustainable Aviation Fuels in Canada 

C-SAF aims to catalyze a SAF ecosystem and mobilize efforts to accelerate the commercial production and increase the scale and use of SAF in Canada. With stakeholder insights from across the SAF value chain, the Council plans to serve as a voice for its members with government and nongovernment stakeholders to define the strategy and the roadmap for the creation of a sustainable and profitable SAF market in Canada.

Our Vision

 

At C-SAF our vision is to facilitate the production and use of Canadian-made, low-carbon and sustainable aviation fuels to put the aviation sector on a pathway to net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

Our Mission

 

To accelerate the commercial production and increase the scale and use of low-carbon and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in Canada by catalyzing the SAF ecosystem to develop and enable SAF value chains, design and advocate for innovative SAF policies and programs, define a SAF strategy and roadmap and provide the “go-to-place” for SAF development in Canada.

Our Objectives

Identifying the strategic, economic and social benefits of developing a SAF market and industry in Canada and taking actions to overcome the barriers and constraints in achieving these goals;
Maintaining a platform for government and industry to work together in developing a coordinated approach to the policy and regulatory framework needed to attract investment in creating a SAF market and to increase the manufacturing, uptake of and delivery of SAF in Canada;
Convening and catalyzing a SAF ecosystem to strengthen collaboration by facilitating the exchange of information about, and accelerating initiatives supporting the development and commercialization of SAF and innovation and scaling activities to reduce overall SAF cost;
Supporting the development of internationally recognized sustainability standards for SAF and standardized methodology for accounting and claiming carbon reductions compatible across jurisdictions;
Being the voice of SAF in Canada and promoting public awareness on SAF sustainability benefits in decarbonizing aviation.
