In recent years, the global aviation industry has agreed to decarbonize its sector. Although several methods to achieve this are described by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), most of the decarbonization will have to come from the use of sustainable aviation fuels in the long term.

The Canadian Council for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (C-SAF) founding members recognized the need for an industry-led initiative for SAF production and use in Canada. C-SAF’s launch members are important stakeholders from across the SAF value chain that is committed to advancing SAF production and use in Canada.

As a founding member of the Canadian Council for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (C-SAF), WestJet is committed to accelerating the commercial production and use of Canadian-made low-carbon and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in Canada.
